Never Forsaken is a Christian rock band out of Griffin, Georgia, with a heart for outreach ministry.  The majority of the songs they perform are written by members of the band who describe it as “salvation music” as opposed to “praise and worship”.  Their reasoning behind this is simply … “How can you praise and worship God if you don’t know Him?”  Never Forsaken tries to bridge that gap by introducing listeners to the Lord Jesus Christ and His saving power.  Once they know Him, the door is opened to praise and worship.

Never Forsaken’s goal is to reach as many people as possible with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.  One of the most effective methods is exposure through various media outlets.  The band has just released a limited edition EP containing four original songs that appeal to a wide range of audiences.  The EP was produced with the intention of introducing Never Forsaken and opening doors of opportunity for the band and outreach ministry.

On the inside of the CD cover there is a quote from Scripture stating … But Jesus looked on them and said to them “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)  Every aspect of Never Forsaken from its inception is nothing short of miraculous.  In the fall of 2008, David Varela (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) was looking for a kindred spirit to “jam” with.  David had known Jim Lepore (vocals, lead guitar) for a few years through church, but it wasn’t until a friend “tipped” him off that he found out Jim could play guitar.  David and Jim started playing together and after a few months, they began discussing the idea of starting a Christian band and outreach ministry.  In January 2009, Cindy Lepore finally picked up the bass that her husband had given her years ago and starting playing with the band.  Lastly, the search for the right drummer was on, and as happened before, he was there at church the whole time, but no one remembered that he played.  In June of 2009, Randy Smith joined as the drummer.

Everything about the band is accomplished with prayer and guidance by the Holy Spirit, including the name, Never Forsaken.  It comes from a Scripture verse in Hebrews 13:5 that says … “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  They want to convey a message of hope and let people know that God loves them no matter what they may have done.  Each band member’s life is a testament to the changing power that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ brings.  Because of this, Never Forsaken seeks to reach as many people as possible with the message of hope and meet the needs of those who can’t help themselves.

To God be the glory!!!
